The US Dollar was higher against the Japanese Yen in Asian trading above 148.00 levels.
The USD/JPY climbed as the greenback increased against most of its rivals this morning and traders continued to worry about the impact of US tariffs upon the Japanese economy if no deal is reached before August 1st. In Japan, Trade Balance data for June (353.9 bln) will be posted (00:50 GMT+1). In the US, Retail Sales data for June (0.1% exp), Philadelphia Fed Manufacturing Index for July (-1.2) and Initial Jobless Claims (233k exp) will be posted (13:30 GMT+1).
