NIO Inc. (#NIO) weekly uptrend opportunity based On 1.00 Lot Calculation:
- Nio offers electric vehicles and parts, as well as provides battery charging services. It currently sells the ES8 and ES6 electric SUVs, and a new EC6 electric crossover. In early January 2021 they revealed their new sedan ET7 that will be selling in 2022. On December 18, 2021, they revealed a cheaper sedan ET5, and they plan soon to announce a new model, that of ES7. The company is headquartered in Shanghai, China.
- EVENT: JANUARY CAR DELIVERY DATA (EXPECTED: FEBRUARY 1): The company shipped 10,489 vehicles in December. NIO's monthly delivery record came in November, when it shipped 10,878 units. For the full year, NIO delivered 91,429 vehicles in 2021, up 109% compared with 2020. NIO has delivered the most of the three over the company's life. NIO has delivered more than 167,000 vehicles to date. XPeng and Li have delivered about 125,000 and 123,000 vehicles, respectively.
- NIO DAY 2021: NEW MODEL (ET5): Nio has unveiled its latest electric vehicle ET5 which is expected to be delivered from next September. The new model will be the Chinese electric car startup’s cheapest. Nio’s smart electric sedan ET5 will be pricing at $41,000. The newly released ET5 will become the most ordered model of Nio’s history, CEO Li said. ET7 MODEL FROM 2021 UPDATES: Following the ET5 debut at NIO Day 2021, the automaker also revealed a start date of January 20, 2022, for order confirmations of the ET7. Deliveries are set to begin on March 28, 2022. MARKET EXPANSION: CEO Li added that the company will introduce its full-system services also in Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Denmark next year to serve over 25 countries and regions worldwide in 2025. Nio has already leased a facility in California, US, in a sign that will be soon entering the US market.
- EXPECTATION: Nio plans to introduce a new model (ES7) on April 21, 2022 at the Beijing Auto Show.
- ANALYST OPINION: Morgan Stanley reiterated a Buy and a price target of $66 on the stock. Credit Suisse forecasts $83, while Deutsche Bank sits at $70 a share. JP Morgan targets $60 a share. Citigroup upgraded the stock to buy from neutral, targeting $87 a share. Goldman Sachs set a target price of $56 a share. Bank of America sits at $65 a share. AVERAGE BLOOMBERG ANALYSTS’ CONSENSUS is $59.50 a share.
- STOCK PRICE ACTION: NIO’s upside potential stands at 157%, and all that considering their recent all time high of $66.85, as it last traded at $26. The stock traded last 61% below its recent all-time high ($66.85).
