GLOBAL EV MARKETS:

  • ELECTRIC VEHICLES (EV) MAKE ONLY AROUND 9.0% OF TOTAL CAR SALES, WORTH 66.7 MILLION CARS IN 2021: The total global car market grew just 4.5% in 2021, by around 66.7 million cars. In 2020, the world sold around 63.8 million cars. The estimates say that around 6.5 million electric vehicles (EVs) were sold worldwide in 2021, up 109% from 2020. EV sales represent around 9% of all passenger car sales in 2021. The EV sector increased its market share from 4.11% in 2021 to around 9.00% off the global car sales.
  • MARKET POTENTIAL: ELECTRIC VEHICLES (EV) COULD BE EXPECTED TO TAKE UP AROUND 50% OF GLOBAL CAR SALES BY 2030. The 2021 figures of 287.36 billion dollars are an increase of around 76% from 2020’s 160.01 billion dollars. Expecting this number to grow to 823.75 billion dollars, the EV market could be growing annually on average by 18.6%.

  • THE COMPANY: Fisker is an American Electric Vehicle maker, founded by Henrik Fisker. The company has maintained a market capitalization of 2.3 billion dollars, which is down from around 9 billion dollars in early 2021.
  • PROJECTED RESERVATIONS: 60,000 - 80,000. Initial reservations cost was $250. In total, this should be a money inflow of 15- 20 million dollars. Starting October 31, 2022, the company will provide an estimated delivery window when a preferred Fisker Ocean model will ship.
  • FIRST PREORDERS TO BE DELIVERED BY THE END OF 2022: 5,000. The company has received down- payments of $5,000 for each preorder totaling 25 million dollars. According to initial estimates, the company should receive around 325 million dollars.

  • NEWS: FISKER CONSIDERS EV PRODUCTION IN EUROPE FOR THE “PEAR” MODEL. The US electric car manufacturer Fisker is considering setting up European production for its second model, the Pear. This could be done with a partner or alone. The decision is expected to be made in mid-2023. As reported, the affordable electric model Pear, which is to be available for under 30,000 euros, will initially be built by contract manufacturer Foxconn in the US state of Ohio from 2024.
  • NEWS: Fisker is on the lookout for location in the US to build a factory and produce cars in the US in order to take advantage of the US EV sales credits.
  • PRICE ACTION: THE STOCK FELL TO AN ALL- TIME LOW OF $6.35 (OCTOBER 2022), REPRESENTING A DECLINE OF 80% FROM ITS ALL- TIME HIGH OF $31.96 (MARCH 2021). Fisker was last trading around $7.40, and if a full recovery follows to recent all- time highs, the stock could see an upside of around 330%. However, the stock price could also decline further.
