TESLA: The Next Chapter
Tesla is widely known as an electric vehicle manufacturer, producing some of the world’s best-selling EVs, including the Model 3 and Model Y. However, under CEO Elon Musk, Tesla is increasingly positioning itself as more than a traditional carmaker. The company is expanding into artificial intelligence, autonomous driving, robotics, and transportation technology. Tesla is advancing its Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology, expanding its Robotaxi service with the new Cybercab, developing the next generation of its Optimus humanoid robot, and growing its Semi-Truck business. AI plays a central role in many of these projects, potentially expanding Tesla’s business well beyond electric vehicles. Below, we take a closer look at Tesla’s latest products and developments.
CYBERCAB AND ROBOTAXI PROJECT
On September 3, Tesla began deploying Cybercabs in Austin, Texas, marking an important step in the company’s expansion of its Robotaxi service. Tesla has also started mass production of the Cybercab, with plans to gradually deploy the vehicles across the United States as Robotaxi services receive approval in additional states. First unveiled in 2024, the Cybercab is a fully autonomous two-seat vehicle designed to operate without a driver. It features gullwing-style doors and eight cameras that help the vehicle understand and navigate its surroundings. Unlike traditional cars, the Cybercab has no steering wheel or pedals, while also relying on cameras instead of sensors such as radar and lidar that are commonly used by other autonomous vehicles.
THE “ROADSTER” ERA
On October 1, 2026, Tesla plans to unveil its next-generation Roadster, marking the long-awaited return of its high-performance electric sports car. First revealed in 2017, the Roadster has faced years of delays. Tesla has previously claimed a 0–60 mph (0- 97 km per hour) time of 1.9 seconds, a top speed above 250 mph (400 km per hour), and around 620 miles (998 km) of range. The company has also teased an optional SpaceX package featuring cold-gas thrusters, which could further enhance the vehicle’s performance. The unveiling is expected to take place in Waco, Texas, near SpaceX’s McGregor test facility.
HUMANOID ROBOT: OPTIMUS GENERATION 3
Tesla is developing Optimus Gen 3 as its next-generation humanoid robot, with major improvements in dexterity and movement. Tesla plans to use the robots initially for manufacturing and other repetitive tasks, while its longer-term goal is to develop a general-purpose humanoid robot. The company is preparing large-scale production, potentially making Optimus an important part of Tesla’s expansion into robotics and artificial intelligence.
SEMI – TRUCK: EUROPE’S EXPANSION
Tesla confirmed that its electric Semi truck will make its European debut at the IAA Transportation show in Hannover, Germany (September 15 – 20). The company will present the European version and reveal its European specifications and launch details. The European Semi is expected to offer a range of up to 550 km with a 40-tonne gross weight and support Tesla’s 1.2 MW Megacharging technology. The European expansion marks Tesla’s entry into the region’s heavy-duty electric truck market, where it will compete with established manufacturers such as Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, MAN and Scania.
CAR SALES TRACKER: Q3 CAR DELIVERY DATA
As already mentioned, many still see Tesla primarily as a car manufacturer, and therefore will continue watching Tesla’s car delivery data. The next event related to this will take place in early October 2026, when Tesla is expected to release its Q3 car delivery data. Tesla reported 480,126 vehicle deliveries in the second quarter, compared with expectations of 406,000. The result marked a 25% increase from the same period last year and a 34% increase from the first quarter’s 358,023 deliveries.
Conclusion
Tesla continues to expand beyond its traditional role as a car manufacturer, introducing new products and technologies across robotics, autonomous driving and artificial intelligence. Investors continue to closely monitor these developments, which could attract further attention to Tesla’s stock. The stock has already reacted positively, rising around 20% since late July 2026. The next chapter of Tesla’s product development could play an important role in determining the stock’s future price direction.
