The Unemployment rate for February was 3.8%. It is expected to fall to 3.7% in March. Non-Farm Payrolls are expected to fall to 460,000 for March, lower than February’s figure of 678,000.

Core CPI (excluding food and energy) was 6.4%, Year-over-Year in February. March’s Core CPI is expected to rise to 6.7%, Year-over-Year. Top-line CPI for February came in at 7.9%, Year-over-Year. The forecast for Top-line CPI for March is 8.2%, Year-over-Year.

The Russian invasion of Ukraine is now in its second month. Russia has had success in the Eastern part of the country but continues to struggle in the West and around major cities. There are peace talks are nearly continuous but both sides remain far apart on the issue of territory. Ukraine has agreed to waive NATO membership in their future in exchange for security guarantees. The United States and Europe are continuing to send military aid to Ukraine. At the time of this writing the war is in a state of stalemate.
