Description:

Yandex is a Russian multinational corporation which is incorporated in the Netherlands. It specializes in internet related services and products. It is currently the biggest tech company in Russia, has the largest Russian language search engine and is the fifth largest search engine in the world.

The company has some 7,500 employees and it is listed on the NASDAQ and the Moscow Exchange.

Yandex launched Yandex Labs in Silicon Valley in 2008.
In February 2018 Uber and Yandex merged their businesses in Russia and some other ex Soviet countries. Uber invested $225 million and owns 36.6% stake the venture while Yandex invested $100 million and owns a 59.3% stake.
Yandex’s main rivals in the Russian market consist of Google, Mail.ru and Rambler.
