- AMD is a chipmaker itself. It is a major player in the Consumer Computing, Data Center, and Gaming Markets.
- MARKET SHARE: The market share for desktop CPUs is around 32% in Q2 2025, for Laptop CPUs it is around 24.0% market share, and 27% server unit share in Q1 2025.
- AI MARKET PENETRATION: Its flagship chips are the Ryzen 9000 family and the Instinct MI300/MI350 AI accelerators, with the Zen 6 and MI400 AI coming out this year. Furthermore, AMD supplies custom chips for Sony PlayStation 5 and Microsoft Series X/s, contributing significantly to its gaming segment.

- EVENT (TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 3, AFTERMARKET): Q4 EARNINGS REPORT. AMD is expected to print $9.641 billion in revenue, which should be around 25% higher than the same quarter in the last year. A net income of $1.351 billion is expected, which is 180% higher than the same quarter last year. An Earnings Per Share (EPS) of $0.82 is expected, which should be 173% higher than the same quarter last year.
- AMD TENDS TO BEAT EXPECTATIONS: In the last 8 quarters, AMD has beaten revenue (8 out of the last 8 times) and Net Income (5 out of the last 8 times).

AMD: EXPANDING ITS AI CAPABILITIES
- AMD REPORTS STRONG CHIP DEMAND FOR 2026. AMD’s server CPUs for 2026 are mostly sold out due to very strong AI and data center demand, with AMD considering a price increase of 10-15% in the first quarter of this year, significantly increasing revenue. Server CPU demand from AMD is expected to grow at least 50% this year. From AMD’s MI255 and MI455 AI chips, a sales revenue of around $15 billion is expected.
- AMD ENTERS A LONG-TERM PARTNERSHIP WITH OPEN AI. OpenAI has announced a massive, multi-generational partnership with AMD, with OpenAI committing to deploying up to 6 gigawatts of AMD Instinct GPU’s over several years. The first 1 – gigawatt deployment, featuring the MI450 Series, is scheduled to begin in the second half of 2026. For AMD, a potential of more than $100 billion in revenue is expected in the next 4 years.
AMD: PRICE ACTION
- AMD HAS REACHED AN ALL-TIME HIGH OF $266.58 (OCTOBER 29, 2025). AMD was last trading around $249. Since the beginning of the year, the price of AMD stocks has risen by around 7%. However, the price could decline as well.
- ANALYSTS' OPINIONS: Melius Research forecasts $380. Raymond James forecasts $377. New Street Research forecasts $354. Wells Fargo forecasts $345. UBS forecasts $330. Piper Sandler forecasts $300.
