LOCKHEED MARTIN is set to ramp up weapons system production in response to rising global security threats, including Ukraine, the Middle East, and Taiwan. The company aims to double production of its High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS), with capacity already increased from 48 to 60 per year and expected to reach 96 per year by the end of 2024.
LOCKHEED MARTIN secured a $4.1 billion contract from the Missile Defense Agency to enhance the C2BMC (Command, Control, Battle Management, and Communications) System. The contract is expected to be completed by April 30, 2029. The upgraded system will include hypersonic defense integration and threat-informed analysis, enhancing capabilities to detect, track, and respond to hypersonic threats.
LOCKHEED MARTIN and CoAspire unveiled the new Mako Multi-Mission Hypersonic Missile. This is the first time the hypersonic has been publicly displayed since its development over seven years ago. Initially proposed for the U.S. Air Force’s Stand in Attack Weapon (SiAW) program, Mako equips aircraft with the capability to target adversary missile and air-defense systems. At the SAS event, Mako was showcased on various aircraft, including the F-35, F-22, F-16, F-15, F-18, and a Navy P-8.
LOCKHEED MARTIN has been awarded $4.3B in contracts this year and a total of $32.7B during 2023.

LOCKHEED MARTIN: UPCOMING EVENT

EARNINGS FOR Q1, April 23, 2024 (after-market). According to expectations, the company is projected to unveil revenues of $15.96 billion and earnings per share of 5.8. Although this reflects a decline compared to the previous quarter, it still signifies a year-over-year increase. STRONG Q4 RESULTS: The company ended the year with 18.87B in revenue, an +11.8% increase compared to the previous quarter, and 7.9 earnings per share which is a 16.69% increase. Both results were better than expected.

ANALYST OPINION: JPMorgan increased its target to $518. Morgan Stanley is targeting $503. Citigroup is targeting $508. Susquehanna is targeting $540.

STOCK PRICE ACTION: LOCKHEED MARTIN stock made its all-time high of $508.10 in April 2023. The shares are currently trading around $453 which is around 10.8% below the record high. If a full recovery follows, the stock could increase by around 12.17%. However, it could go lower.
