U.S. – CHINA SUMMIT
- U.S. – CHINA SUMMIT (SEPTEMBER 23 – SEPTEMBER 25, 2026): CEO ELON MUSK ATTENDANCE. The summit brings U.S. and Chinese leaders together to discuss trade, technology and access to important materials. China is a major market for Tesla as it generated $8.9 billion, or about 17.5% of Tesla’s revenue in the first half of 2026, while Tesla’s Shanghai factory produced 86,166 vehicles in August alone.
- POTENTIAL IMPACT: Lower trade barriers could help Tesla’s costs, while easier approval for Full Self Driving (FSD) could open a new software business across millions of vehicles. Better U.S.–China relations could therefore reduce tariffs, lower production costs and make it easier for Tesla to maintain its supply chain and sell vehicles in China.
OTHER EVENTS
- THURSDAY, OCTOBER 1: ROADSTER SUPERCAR 2.0 TO BE UNVEILED. Elon Musk confirmed the date after Tesla posted a “Go for launch” teaser, and Tesla’s Roadster page now has a countdown to October 1. This is the second-generation Tesla Roadster, first revealed by Elon Musk in November 2017. CEO Elon Musk has teased a potentially dramatic SpaceX-related performance demonstration involving cold-gas thrusters. Tesla has also reopened reservations ahead of the October 1 unveiling in Texas, with buyers reportedly required to place a $50,000 deposit.
