EVENTS
- TUESDAY, OCTOBER 27 AT 14:00 GMT+1: U.S. CB CONSUMER CONFIDENCE (OCTOBER). The report provides insight into how American consumers perceive current economic conditions and future prospects. A decline in confidence could indicate softer consumer spending, potentially putting pressure on the U.S. dollar and supporting silver prices.
- THURSDAY, OCTOBER 29 AT 12:30 GMT+1: U.S. GDP (Q3). U.S. economic growth reached 2.2% in the final second-quarter reading, surpassing the 1.5% forecast. A weaker-than-expected result for the third quarter could raise concerns about slowing economic activity and weigh on the U.S. dollar, potentially benefiting silver prices.
U.S. FEDERAL RESERVE:
- WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 28 AT 18:00 GMT+1: U.S. FEDERAL RESERVE (FED) INTEREST RATE DECISION. The benchmark interest rate currently stands at 4.00%, with markets widely anticipating no change at the upcoming meeting. A more dovish-than-expected policy statement could weaken the U.S. dollar and offer support to silver prices. Conversely, a more hawkish-than-expected policy statement could strengthen the U.S. dollar and exert downward pressure on silver prices.
- WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 28 AT 18:30 GMT+1: PRESS CONFERENCE (FED CHAIR KEVIN WARSH). Market participants will assess Warsh’s remarks for clues about the Fed’s approach to inflation, economic growth, and future monetary policy. Any indication that additional rate increases are unlikely could reduce support for the U.S. dollar and offer support to silver prices. Conversely, a more hawkish-than-expected policy statement could strengthen the U.S. dollar and exert downward pressure on silver prices.
