EVENTS
- TUESDAY, OCTOBER 27 AT 14:00 GMT+1: U.S. CB CONSUMER CONFIDENCE (OCTOBER). This indicator reflects consumers’ outlook on the U.S. economy. A weaker-than-expected reading could point to lower future consumer spending, potentially supporting gold prices.
- THURSDAY, OCTOBER 29 AT 12:30 GMT+1: U.S. GDP (Q3). The final reading for second-quarter GDP showed economic growth of 2.2%, exceeding expectations of 1.5%. If third-quarter growth falls short of forecasts, concerns about the economic outlook could increase and put pressure on the U.S. dollar, potentially supporting gold prices.
U.S. FEDERAL RESERVE:
- WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 28 AT 18:00 GMT+1: U.S. FEDERAL RESERVE (FED) INTEREST RATE DECISION. The Fed’s current interest rate stands at 4.00%, and markets anticipate that policymakers will leave rates unchanged at the October meeting. If the decision or accompanying statement indicates a less hawkish outlook, the U.S. dollar could weaken, potentially supporting gold prices.
- WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 28 AT 18:30 GMT+1: PRESS CONFERENCE (FED CHAIR KEVIN WARSH). Investors will focus on Warsh’s assessment of inflation, economic conditions, and the future path of interest rates. If he indicates that further rate hikes are unlikely, this could weigh on the U.S. dollar and provide support for gold prices.
