During European trading, the British Pound rose against the US Dollar, trading above 1.3490 levels.
The GBP/USD currency rose in the European session, as better than expected retail sales data came out of the UK. In the UK, Year on Year Retail Sales for April were posted with data being higher than expected (5.0% realised vs 4.5% expected). In the US, New Homes Sales data for April (694k exp) will be posted (15:00 GMT+1).
