During European trading, the British Pound rose against the US Dollar, trading above 1.3400 levels.
The GBP/USD held its recent gains in the European session, ahead of US inflation data coming out today. In the UK, the Average Earnings Index for June came out with data lower than expected (4.6% realised vs 4.7% expected) and Unemployment Rate figures for June which came out in line with expectations (4.7%). In the US, CPI Inflation data for July (2.8% exp) will be revealed (13:30 GMT+1).
