During European trading, the British pound increased against the US Dollar trading above 1.36000 levels.
The pair gained ground in the European session following higher than expected UK manufacturing data. In the UK S&P Global Manufacturing PMI for January came higher than expected (51.8 realised vs 51.6 expected). In the US, Global Manufacturing PMI data for January (51.9 exp) will be posted (14:45 GMT) and ISM Manufacturing PMI for January (47.9 exp) will be released (15:00 GMT).
