European stocks opened lower as investors in the region assessed the political uncertainty in France following Sunday’s election results.
The pan-European Stoxx 600 index fell 0.37% to 514.51 points, with most sectors experiencing declines. On individual exchanges, the British FTSE 100 edged up by 0.02%, while the German DAX dropped 0.43%. The French CAC 40, Italian FTSE MIB, and Spanish IBEX 35 saw declines of 0.59%, and 0.50% respectively.
