The USA500 is currently trading above 5,300 levels.
U.S. stock futures indicated gains on Thursday following a record high for equities in the previous session, driven by a modest monthly inflation report.
Dow futures had risen 37 points or 0.1%, S&P 500 futures were up 5 points or 0.1%, and Nasdaq 100 futures had climbed 34 points or 0.2%.
Wednesday's data revealed that consumer price growth in April slowed as expected to 3.4% annually, prompting speculation that the Federal Reserve might begin reducing interest rates from over two-decade highs later this year. Traders have now factored in two cuts in 2024, up from just one earlier this week.
Following the report, stocks surged, with the S&P 500 up 1.2%, the Nasdaq Composite adding 1.4%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average advancing 0.9%. The 2-year U.S. Treasury yield, sensitive to rate changes, briefly hit its lowest level since early April, while the dollar weakened to multi-week lows against other currencies.
