The USA500 is currently trading above 5,500 levels.
U.S. stock markets are scheduled to be closed on Thursday in observance of the Independence Day holiday.
On Wednesday, both the benchmark S&P 500 and the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite reached record closing highs during a shortened trading session. This surge was fueled by data indicating a softening in the U.S. labour market, which could strengthen the argument for the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates later this year.
However, a decline in healthcare and consumer stocks dragged down the Dow Jones Industrial Average, which ended the session 0.06% lower.
