The US Dollar maintained its gains against the Turkish Lira during the European session above 43.60 levels.
The USD/TRY currency pair remained high in European trading with elevated volatility as high and chronic inflation created an upward pressure for the Turkish lyra. In Turkey, Industrial Production data for December came out with data being lower for this month than the month before (-2.1% for this month vs 2.2 for the previous month). In the US, Retail Sales data for December (0.4% expected) will be released (13:30 GMT).
