The Australian Dollar edged higher against the US Dollar during Asian trading above 0.6500 levels.
The AUD/USD currency pair held its ground in the Asian session with initial optimism over the meeting between President Trump and President Xi wearing off as the session wore on after it became clear that no long term trade issues appeared to be resolved. In Australia, the Export Price Index for Q3 was -0.9% vs -4.5% last month. In the US GDP data for Q3 (3.0% exp) will be released (12:30 GMT).*
*Most US Government data will not be published (or will be delayed) because of a government shutdown. Non government US data will be released as normal.
