Oil prices were slightly higher on Thursday as a surprise build in U.S. stockpiles fuelled worries about slow demand from the world's top oil consumer, though declines were capped by fears about a potential expansion of the Gaza war which could disrupt Middle East supplies. The U.S. Energy Information Administration reported a 3.6 million barrel increase in the country's crude oil inventories last week, surprising analysts who had expected a 2.9 million-barrel drawdown.
