The S&P 500 posted a record high close on Wednesday ahead of quarterly results from Nvidia, Wall Street's most closely watched event this week, which will test the rally that has pushed valuations of AI-related companies to their current levels. Later, Nvidia posted better than expected results, but fell short of some expectations of record numbers.
On Wednesday the S&P 500 rose 0.24%, the Dow Jones increased 0.32% and the Nasdaq advanced 0.21%.
