The US Dollar fell against the Japanese Yen in Asian trading below 150.5 levels.
The USD/JPY pair declined amid positive news from Japan after reports suggested that the ruling Liberal Democratic Party agreed to form a coalition government with an opposition party. The new government is expected to support looser monetary policies. In Japan, there are no data releases scheduled today. In the US, Leading Index for September (-0.5% last month) will be released (15:00 GMT+1).*
*Most US Government data will not be published (or will be delayed) because of a government shutdown. Non government US data will be released as normal.
