The US Dollar declined against the Japanese Yen in Asian trading below 155.40 levels.
The USD/JPY traded at a more than one week low in the Asian session as the yen strengthened following Prime Minister Takaichi's Labour party’s strong electoral victory over the weekend. In Japan, Year on year machine tools orders data came in at 25.3% vs 10.9% last month. In the US, Retail Sales data for December (0.4% expected) will be released (13:30 GMT).
