The US Dollar climbed against the Turkish Lira during the Asian session above 40.00 levels.
The USD/TRY currency pair remained close to a three month high in the Asian session as Turkey raised the withholding tax on short term Turkish lira deposits by 2.5% in an attempt to support the lira. In Turkey, Industrial Production figures for May (3.3% exp) will be released (08:00 GMT+1). In the US, Initial Jobless Claims data (236k exp) will be published (13:30 GMT+1).
