In European trading, the US Dollar pushed higher against the Canadian Dollar, trading above 1.4000 levels.
The USD/CAD currency pair was on the rise in the European session as the US dollar strengthened as better than expected US NFP data came out increasing uncertainty over the FED’s future move. In Canada, Retail Sales data for October (-0.7% exp) will be posted (13:30 GMT). In the US, S&P Global Manufacturing PMI for November (52.0 exp) and S&P Global Services PMI for November (54.6 exp) will be released (14:45 GMT).*
*The government shutdown has now concluded, but most US Government data will still be delayed. Non government US data will be released as normal.
