GERMANY
- GERMAN GOVERNMENT UNVEILED 34- POINT ECONOMIC REFORM PLAN. Germany’s government introduced a 34-point economic reform plan aimed at boosting growth, improving competitiveness, and attracting investment. The package focuses on reducing bureaucracy, accelerating digitalization, lowering energy costs, and strengthening the country’s industrial sector.
- POSITIVE IMPACT ON GER40 PRICE: The reform plan could provide support for the GER40 price as investors view measures aimed at strengthening Germany’s economy, boosting competitiveness, and improving growth prospects as positive for the eurozone’s largest economy.
EVENTS:
- TUESDAY, AUGUST 25 AT 07:00 GMT+1: GERMAN GROSS DOMESTIC PRODUCT (GDP) (Q2). A stronger-than-expected GDP reading would point to improving economic growth in Germany. Such a result could boost investor confidence and support the GER40. Preliminary Q2 data came in at 0.9%, up from 0.4% in Q1, reaching its highest rate since late 2022.
- MONDAY, AUGUST 31 AT 13:00 GMT+1: GERMAN INFLATION (CPI) (AUGUST). German inflation currently stands at 2.8%. However, a lower-than-expected reading could support GER40 index.
- TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 1 AT 08:55 GMT+1: GERMAN MANUFACTURING PMI (AUGUST). The preliminary German Manufacturing PMI showed that German manufacturing activity rose in August to its highest level since May 2022, indicating that the German economy has continued to recover. If the second and final reading also shows strong data, the GER40 index could come under positive and upward pressure.
- TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 1 AT 10:00 GMT+1: EUROZONE INFLATION (CPI) (AUGUST). Eurozone inflation currently stands at 2.9%. However, a lower-than-expected reading could support GER40 index.
- THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 3 AT 08:55 GMT+1: GERMAN SERVICES PMI (AUGUST). The preliminary German Services PMI showed that German services activity fell to 48.5, down from 49.8 in July. However, if the second and final reading shows stronger data, the GER40 index could come under positive and upward pressure.
TECHNICAL ANALYSIS:
- UPTREND: The black trendline shows that GER40 prices have entered an uptrend since March 30, 2026, which has also served as a key support zone. However, there remains a risk of a potential breakout below this level if market conditions change.
- THE GER40 HIT AN ALL-TIME HIGH OF 26,649 (AUGUST 12, 2026). The GER40 currently trades around 26,200, up around 8% this year. However, the price could also decline.
