In European trading, the euro rose against the US Dollar, trading above the 1.0400 mark.
For the last couple of days the currency pair has moved in a general upward direction as the prospect of US tariffs towards the EU becomes more uncertain. In Europe EU Consumer Confidence data (-14.0 expected) for January will be published (15:00 GMT). In the US, Initial Jobless Claims data (221k expected) will be posted (13:30 GMT) and President Trump will hold an online speech at the World Economic Forum (16:00 GMT).
