In Asian trading, the Euro increased against the US Dollar, trading above the 1.1600 mark.
The EUR/USD advanced during the Asian session with traders absorbing the latest statements from the Trump administration which outlined that the US may impose 100% tariffs on China, amid an ongoing government shutdown. In Europe President Macron re-appointed Prime Minister Lecornu. In the Eurozone, German Current Account Balance data for August (13:00 GMT+1) will be posted. In the US Construction Spending for August (-0.1% expected) will be released (12:00 GMT+1).*
*Most US Government data will not be published (or will be delayed) because of a government shutdown. Non government US data will be released as normal.
