The US Dollar declined against the Japanese Yen in Asian trading below 152 levels.
The USD/JPY inched lower in the Asian session as the safe haven yen caught a bid amid trade uncertainty, although the yen’s gains were capped by expectations that the likely new Japanese government will not increase interest rates anytime soon. In Japan, there are no data releases scheduled today. In the US Construction Spending for August (-0.1% expected) will be released (12:00 GMT+1).*
*Most US Government data will not be published (or will be delayed) because of a government shutdown. Non government US data will be released as normal.
