In Asian trading, the Euro inched higher against the US Dollar, trading above the 1.14000 mark.
The EUR/USD increased slightly during the Asian session just ahead of the ECB meeting in which President Lagarde is expected to have a hawkish tone due to rising energy prices and their contribution to inflation. In Europe, the ECB will meet to decide on interest rates (2.15% expected - unchanged) at 13:15 GMT. In the US, Initial Jobless Claims data (215k expected) and Philadelphia Fed Manufacturing Index for March (8.3 exp) will be released (12:30 GMT).
