Fundamental analysis
19 December, 2025
During Asian trading, the British pound fell against the US Dollar trading below 1.34000 levels.
The GBP/USD was slightly lower in the Asian session after the Bank of England opted to cut interest rates by 25 basis points, but a falling dollar following the release of less than expected US inflation data offset some of the pair’s weakness. In the UK, Retail Sales data for November (1.6% exp) will be posted (07:00 GMT). In the US, CPI Inflation data for November (3.0% last month) and Initial Jobless Claims data (236k last week) will be released (13:30 GMT).
