The US Dollar increased against the Japanese Yen in Asian trading above 155.90 levels.
The USD/JPY hit a more than one week peak in the Asian session despite the fact that the Bank of Japan hiked interest rates and Governor Ueda outlined that the bank might continue raising interest rates if the economy moves in line with current forecasts. In Japan, the Bank of Japan met and decided to hike interest rates by 25 basis points to 0.75%. In the US, CPI Inflation data for November (3.0% last month) and Initial Jobless Claims data (236k last week) will be released (13:30 GMT).
