During Asian trading, the British pound increased against the US Dollar trading above 1.37000 levels.
The GBP/USD rose in the Asian session after US Congress passed a funding bill which ended the short-lived, partial shutdown as traders looked ahead to tomorrow’s Bank of England interest rate decision. In the UK S&P Global Services PMI for January (54.3 exp) will be released (09:30 GMT). In the US, S&P Global Services for January (52.5 exp) and ISM Non Manufacturing PMI for January (53.5) will be released at 14:45 and 15:00 GMT respectively.
