The U.K.'s FTSE index is expected to open 20 points higher, Germany's DAX up 37 points, France's CAC 40 up 7 points, and Italy's FTSE MIB up 45 points.
Thursday's inflation report could solidify expectations that the U.S. Federal Reserve will cut interest rates in the coming months. Recent economic data has indicated that both inflation and economic growth are slowing, including last week's report showing unemployment in June increased to 4.1%.
The consumer price index report for June will be released later today.
