MOVIE AND ENTAIRTAINING INDUSTRY:
- MARKET SIZE (2022-2030): INCREASE FROM $95.45 BILLION TO $169.68 BILLION. On average the market is expected to grow by little over 7% each year until 2030.
- MARKET SHARE (2021): Disney held 25.5% of the US and Canada box office in 2021. Second in line was Sony/Columbia holding 23.1%. Universal Picture was third with a market share of 15.6%.

- The Walt Disney Company operates as an entertainment and media enterprise company. The Company's business segments include media networks, parks and resorts, studio entertainment, consumer products, and interactive media. Walt Disney serves customers worldwide. The Disney stock is member of the S&P500 and the Dow Jones Industrial Index.
- EVENT (RELEASE DATE IN THE US: DECEMBER 15. RELEASE DATE IN CHINA: DECEMBER 16. RELEASE DATE IN EUROPE: DECEMBER 16): “AVATAR 2: THE WAY OF WATER”. Disney has spent between 350 and 400 million dollars on the movie. With 2009’s “Avatar”, Disney made almost 3 billion dollars globally. When “Avatar” debuted in 2009, the film generated a solid $77 million opening at the domestic box office. It held the No. 1 spot for a record consecutive seven weeks and remained in the top 10 for over three months, eventually climbing to $760 million in North America. In the US, Avatar 2 is expected to debut with 150- 170 million dollars. The whole thing is expected to again bring more than 2 billion dollars to Disney, and to get on truck to become the highest paying movie in the movie history.
- HISTORICAL DISNEY STOCK PRICE MOVEMENT: AVATAR (2009). The Disney stock rose around 7% from November 25, 2009 until the US premier on December 16, 2009.

- EVENT (NOVEMBER 25): DISNEYLAND SHANGHAI REOPENING. Shanghai Disney Resort was temporarily closed on October 31, 2022 due to Covid-19 control needs. Disney’s theme parks posted record revenue for the third quarter. The park division generated $7.42 billion worth of revenue, a division record and a 36% increase from the same period last year.
DISNEY: PRICE ACTION
- THE STOCK HAS HAD A DOWNWARD CORRECTION OF AROUND 58% FROM ITS ALL- TIME HIGH OF $202.95 (March 2021). The stock fell to its lowest rate since March 2020 to $86.21 (November 9, 2022). Disney was last trading around $97, and if a full recovery follows to recent all- time highs, the stock could see an upside of around 109%, however the price could also decline further.
- ANALYST OPINION: JPMorgan forecasts $135 a share. Citigroup forecasts $145. Morgan Stanley forecasts $125. Wells Fargo forecasts $125. Goldman Sachs forecasts $118.
