The British Pound moved sideways in choppy trading on Friday. It is presently 1.37888. Retail Sales in the UK fell well short of their forecasts in all categories. Retail Sales for August fell 0.9%, Month-over-Month. The consensus forecast was up 0.5%. Core Retail Sales for August dropped 1.2%, Month-over-Month, and fell 0.9%, Year-over-Year. Analysts had expected an increase of 0.8% and 2.5% respectively. The United States will release the Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index for September this afternoon.
