During European trading, the British Pound decreased against the US Dollar, trading below 1.2300 levels.
The currency pair has been trading in a downward trend as negative economic data came out from the UK. In the UK GDP data for November was released with results worse than expected (1.3% expected vs 1.0% realised). In the US, Retail Sales data for December (0.6% expected) and Philadelphia Fed Manufacturing Index data for January (-5.2 exp) will be released (13:30 GMT).
