Dow futures had gained 19 points, or 0.1%, S&P 500 futures had risen by 4 points, or 0.1%, and Nasdaq 100 futures had advanced by 22 points, or 0.1%.
Recent data suggesting a possible cooling in the U.S. economy have alleviated some persistent inflation concerns, fueling hopes that the Federal Reserve might start lowering interest rates from their more than two-decade highs as early as September. Last week, the Dow, the benchmark S&P 500, and the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite all reached record highs.
