During Asian trading, the British pound edged upwards against the US Dollar trading above 1.2300 levels.

The GBP/USD currency pair rose in the Asian session, attempting to break three days of consecutive losses amid tariff fears and important remarks from the Bank of England Governor. In the UK, Bank of England Governor Bailey will speak today (12:15 GMT). In the US, Fed Chair Powell will testify before Congress today (15:00 GMT).
