The USD/CAD pair was slightly lower moving to 1.2120. The pair finished roughly unchanged on Friday after climbing earlier in the day. The Loonie was one of the few major currency not to gain against the Greenback on Friday. Canada’s Employment CHange printed at -207,100. The consensus forecast called for a drop of 175,000. Canada’s Ivey PMI for April came in at 60.1, just a tenth over the 60.5 that analysts had estimated. The United States posted disappointing job data for April. Only 266,000 new jobs were created instead of the 978,000 that analysts had predicted. The U.S. Unemployment Rate for April climbed to 6.1%. The consensus forecast was a drop to 5.8%.
