The USD/TRY edged upwards during the Asian session to trade at 8.4347. The pair traded lower on Tuesday. The Turkish Lira was one of the few currencies to gain strength against the US Dollar. Turkey’s economic calendar was empty. Retail Sales for July in the United States fell well short of their forecasts. July’s Retail Sales fell 1.1%, Month-over-Month, much worse than the -0.3% predicted. Industrial Production in the United States came in high, increasing 0.9%, Month-over-Month in July, higher than the analysts’ estimate of 0.5%.
