-
ABOVE AVERAGE HURRICANE ACTIVITY EXPECTED IN 2022: The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration forecast (with a 70% confidence) a likely range of 14 to 21 named storms of which 6 to 10 can become hurricanes. The risk is that they can turn into major hurricanes of category 3, 4 or 5.
-
HURRICANES USUALLY ATTACK THE GULF OF MEXICO (which includes offshore Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama): The Gulf continues to be the nation's primary offshore source of oil and gas, generating about 97% of all U.S. offshore oil and gas production. There used to be around 1,900 oil and gas platforms. Offshore activity accounts for 15 % of total oil and around 3 % of total natural gas U.S. production.

-
NORD STREAM 1: Annual maintenance works from July 11 to July 21 with no operations in this period.
The Nord Stream 1 pipeline transports 55 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas a year from Russia to Germany. Europe fears Russia may extend the scheduled maintenance to restrict European gas supply further and harden plans to fill storages for winter. -
RISE IN DEMAND FOR NATURAL GAS IN THE U.S. DUE TO THE HIGH TEMPERATURES as plants use natural gas to cool temperatures. Electricity demand is expected to rise to all- time highs creating an energy crisis.
-
PRICE ACTION: The Natural Gas prices rose to a record high of $15.780 in 2005. Meanwhile, Natural Gas has fallen around 44.5% from $9.658 to $5.360 last week, which is the lowest rate since March 30, 2022. Since then Natural gas has recovered some of previous losses and currently trades around 6.43. If a full recovery to 2005 highs happens, this could provide an increase of around 145%.
