USD/CAD weekly special report based on 1 Lot Calculation:

CENTRAL BANK MEETINGS: CANADA AND USA

  • WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, AT 14:45 GMT+1: BANK OF CANADA INTEREST RATE DECISION. PRESS CONFERENCE AT 15:30 GMT+1. An interest rate cut from the current 2.75% to 2.50% by the Bank of Canada is expected on Wednesday. However, if the Bank announces a tighter monetary policy in the near future or a pause in the interest rate cuts for the foreseeable future, it could create negative pressures for the USDCAD pair.
  • WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 17 AT 19:00 GMT+1: US FEDERAL RESERVE INTEREST RATE CUT DECISION. PRESS CONFERENCE AT 19:30 GMT+1. The benchmark interest rate currently stands at 4.5%, and according to market expectations, it is expected to be cut to 4.25% on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. The Federal Reserve faces growing pressure to ease policy as the U.S. labor market shows clear signs of weakness. This could put negative pressure on the US dollar and, in turn, create negative pressures for the USDCAD.
