The USD/JPY pair moved sideways in choppy trading. It is 109.886 at midday in Europe. Japan’s Industrial Production for July fell 1.5%, Month-over-Month, which was better than the 2.5% drop that was forecast. Japan’s Unemployment Rate for July ticked down to 2.8%, slightly better than the 2.9% that analysts had expected. Housing Starts in Japan for July climbed 9.9%, Year-over-Year. The consensus forecast was only 4.8%. The United States will release the CB Consumer Confidence Index for August and the Case-Shiller Home Price data later today.
