The British Pound USD currency pair inched upwards to 1.3839 during the Asian session. The Pound finished the European trading day marginally higher after a day of choppy trading on Thursday. The UK’s Claimant Count for June fell 114,800. Its Unemployment Rate for May printed at 4.8%. Initial Jobless Claims for the past week in the United States came in exactly as forecast at 360,000 new claims. The Philadelphia Fed Manufacturing Index for July was reported to be 21.9, much lower than the 28.0 that analysts had predicted.
