The USD/CAD pair edged lower to 1.2393 on Thursday morning. The pair climbed higher on Wednesday. Canada’s Core CPI for February printed at 1.2%, Year-over-Year. The consensus forecast was an increase of 1.4%. Its full CPI for February came in at 0.5%, Month-over-Month, lower than the 0.7% that had been expected. The United States posted Building Permits and Housing Starts for February. Both came in less than expected at 1.682 million and 1.421 million. Most currency pairs were quiet ahead of U.S. Fed Chairman Powell’s press conference that was scheduled for the European evening.
