APPLE: IPHONE 17 SALES EXPECTATIONS & FORECASTS
- Goldman Sachs sees iPhone revenue growing 5% in FY25 and 7% in FY26, driven by AI features, premium models, and strong upgrade demand.
- Wedbush projects a potential upgrade 'supercycle' fueled by AI: around 300 million iPhones globally are running 4+ years old, setting the stage for ~240 million iPhone sales in fiscal 2025—well above consensus estimates.
APPLE: IPHONE MARKET SHARE
- The iPhone holds ~15–16% of global smartphone unit sales. Samsung leads in unit volume with a ~21.8% share.
- The iPhone dominates the premium segment—capturing nearly 80% of all smartphones sold above $1,000. Thanks to its higher prices and strong margins, Apple also takes ~80% of total profits in the global smartphone market after costs.
APPLE: IPHONE REVENUE SHARE
- In Q2 2025, iPhone represented 47.4% of Apple’s revenue. In fiscal year 2024, the iPhone accounted for about 51% of Apple’s total revenue.
APPLE: TECHNICAL ANALYSIS
- UPTREND SUPPORT LINE: Apple’s stock continues to respect a long-term upward trendline (black), which has acted as reliable support since mid-2020. Several retests, including the sharp rebound in May 2025, confirm that the broader uptrend structure remains intact. As long as the stock trades above this rising trendline, the long-term outlook stays constructive.
- PRICE IS TRADING ABOVE ALL MAJOR MOVING AVERAGES: The price is currently trading above the 100-week (green) and 50-week (blue) moving averages, while consolidating near the 20-week MA (red). The 20-week MA has recently flattened after a period of decline, suggesting that short-term selling pressure is easing. Meanwhile, the rising 50- and 100-week MAs continue to provide a supportive base, reinforcing the longer-term bullish bias. Sustained closes above these levels strengthen the case for continued upside momentum.
