Gold weekly uptrend opportunity based On 1.00 Lot Calculation:
- GEOPOLITICS (RUSSIA-UKRAINE TENSIONS): President Vladimir Putin announced an attack on Ukraine earlier this week, days after he recognized two breakaway regions of Russia’s neighbor as independent. Attacks are occurring in Kyiv, Odessa, Mariupol and other locations in Ukraine.
- JANUARY INFLATION IN THE USA CAME IN AT 7.5% VS. EXPECTED 7.3%. WHICH IS THE HIGHEST SINCE 1982. Inflation has continued to rise, moved up by high stimulus packages provided by the US Federal Reserve and the US Congress. A rising inflation usually increases demand for gold as the asset is traditionally considered a store of value, which tends to protect the purchasing power of people’s wealth amid higher inflation.
- ANALYSTS OPINION (GOLDMAN SACHS/CITIGROUP/WELLS FARGO/COMMERZBANK/CREDIT SUISSE/ BANK OF AMERICA): GOLDMAN SACHS raised its 12-month gold target to $2150 from $2000 per ounce, and said Gold could rise to $2350 on the situation in Ukraine. Wells Fargo (The third largest bank in the US by assets) sees Gold at $2100-$2200. Commerzbank expected gold prices to return to $2000. CREDIT SUISSE targets the area 1959-1966, potentially could extend to $2075.
