- MARKET PLAYERS: Virgin Galactic (Richard Branson), Blue Origin (Jeff Bezos) and SpaceX (Elon Musk) are the most prominent companies which are expected to take tourists in space already in 2023.
- MARKET POTENTIAL: AN INCREASE OF 506% COULD BE EXPECTED UNTIL 2031. According to BIS Research, in 2020, the size of the Sub-Orbital and Space Tourism market was $428.8 million. It could be expected to rise to nearly $2.6 billion by 2031, which represents a Compounded Annual Growth Rate of 17.15%.

- THE COMPANY: Virgin Galactic is developing space vehicles and building a commercial space tourism service to take private citizens into space. Virgin Galactic Holdings serves customers in the United States. Virgin Galactic is the largest publicly traded space tourism company on the market.
- GROWTH POTENTIAL: AN INCREASE FROM $3.292 MILLION TO $1.7 BILLION BY 2030. The company could be expected to grow its revenue by 2025 from $3.292 million to $219 million.
VIRGIN GALACTIC: EVENTS AND ANALYSIS
- EVENT (END OF JUNE 2023: FIRST COMMERCIAL FLIGHT): Virgin Galactic is expected to conduct its first commercial flight in late June carrying the Italian Air Force to space as part of the “Galactic 01” mission. After that, if everything goes according to plan, more flights should be conducted by the end of 2023.
- SUCCESSFUL TEST FLIGHT: MAY 25. Virgin Galactic’s aircraft, VMS Eve, departed the New Mexico launch site carrying a crew of six (plus two aircraft pilots). The VSS Unity spaceplane dropped from the wing of the jet a little over an hour later. The entire mission lasted around 90 minutes.
VIRGIN GALACTIC: PRICE ACTION
- STRONG SUPPORT AT $3.00 (Data Source: MetaTrader4 Platform). Virgin Galactic has maintained strong support at around $3.00 since December 2022. The level of $3.00 has been three times tested since then. FIRST TIME (December- February): The stock recovered by adding around 112%. SECOND TIME (April): The stock recovered by adding around 17%. THIRD TIME (April- May): The stock recovered by adding around 70%.
- ANALYSTS’ OPINIONS: Cowen set a price target of $7 on May 11th, 2023. Jefferies set a price target of $8 on May 10th, 2023.
- THE STOCK HAS TRADED AROUND 94% BELOW ITS ALL- TIME HIGH OF $62.33 (November 4, 2021). The stock tested its lowest price ever in April 2023 ($2.74).
