Deutscher Aktien Index (DAX) is a total return index consisting of the 30 major German companies traded on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (FWB). DAX stock quotes are taken from the Deutsche Börse Xetra electronic equities and derivatives trading platform, which measures the performance of companies demonstrating the strongest market value and capitalization. Unlike most indices which use an equal-weight strategy for determining share prices, the DAX also takes into consideration the current size of its member constituents and their expected dividend yield when deciding changes in the average. This means that the impact of an individual stock price change on the index is directly proportional to the company's overall market value. Typical trading hours for DAX CFDs are Monday to Friday, between the hours of 09:00 to 17:30 CET.
